This is my simple recipe for basil and lime syrup

Ingredients

  • 200 g 200 Granulated Sugar

  • 250 ml 250 Water

  • 2 2 Limes, Zest and Juice

  • 30 g 30 Basil Leaves

Directions

  • In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water, lime zest, and lime juice.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  • Once the sugar has dissolved, add the fresh basil leaves to the pan.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and let the syrup cool completely. The basil will continue to infuse as the syrup cools.
  • Once cooled, strain the syrup into a bottle or jar, discarding the basil leaves and lime zest.
